Data Engineer (all genders)

We are looking for a full-time Data Engineer (all genders) for Mediaplus Insights at our Munich location as soon as possible.

As a data engineer, you will be contributing to exciting projects at the forefront of digital transformation and you will be working in innovative consumer insights initiatives and personalization measures for globally recognised brands.

What to Expect:

  • You are the backend specialist for powerful analysis apps that inspire customers and colleagues alike. To do this, you will design and develop data pipelines from the data sources to our frontend applications

  • You will be challenged in a variety of ways, from pure data automation to complex algorithms for our decision support systems. You will support the team in complex research projects and have the opportunity to expand your skills in the areas of machine learning, deep learning and AI

  • You will work in an agile and interdisciplinary manner with front-end developers, market research experts and graphic designers. According to your DevOps focus, you are the guarantor for the reliability and performance of all applications for your colleagues

  • In addition, you are jointly responsible for the hosting and further development of our in-house data framework (Mongo DB, Python), which is the basis for many of our applications

  • In addition to working with data frameworks, you will support the development of AI solutions on your own GPUs as well as in cloud-based environments for scaling. In doing so, you will place great emphasis on a smooth deployment process and the efficient use of resources

  • You can expect to work with the latest database systems and programming languages, a very powerful server environment, exciting projects in the field of artificial intelligence and a huge amount of interesting data. A mentor will guide you through your first steps in our infrastructure and your first projects (on-the-job training), and you will also complete a training course for our data framework

What We Expect from You:

  • Professional:
  • You have a degree in computer science, statistics, engineering, social sciences, natural sciences or a comparable education

  • You are familiar with the possibilities of various database systems and are particularly familiar with Mongo DB and SQL. In addition, you have some practical knowledge of complex data pipeline management and are able to write accurate, maintainable and robust code in Python (preferred) or comparable languages

  • You are always aware of the requirements of data processes and can scale even very large amounts of data to achieve the desired analytical result. Ideally, you have already gained some experience in interface development and in the fields of machine learning and deep learning (studies/practice)

  • You have already worked with version control systems such as GitHub or comparable tools and have experience in the efficient use of coding assistants

  • You have experience in server hosting (Nginx, Linux, Bash scripting, deployment automation), knowledge of microservices and container virtualization (e.g. Docker / Docker Swarm, Kubernetes / K8s), as well as in integrating cloud services like AWS or Azure is an advantage

  • You possess excellent analytical skills, understand even complex tasks quickly and proactively bring in new thoughts and ideas
